Ganpati Festival 2016 Pictures
This are pictures of my Home Ganpati from year 2016
Decoration Theme: Jungle Theme
Decoration Description: We have created a jungle with a huge banyan tree made up of cardboard, newspapers and leaves from chart paper under which Lord Ganesha is sitting for meditation. An audio of birds chirping along with other sounds to get the effect of jungle along with voice message to explain the theme. Through this theme we have tried to show how our fast paced life in Mumbai we are so busy with everyday chores that we forget to enjoy the pleasures of nature .As we live in flats, greenery for us is only the holy Tulsi or may be a few potted plants in the balcony. So we are trying to give a message that plant & save trees, slow down a bit and admire the nature.
We are promoting the use of eco friendly shadu ganesha and eco-friendly decoration.
List of materials used for decoration :-
1) Banyan Tree : Trunk made with card board base covered with newspaper,(a mixture of wheat flour, salt, water and fevicol is used to stick old crushed newspaper strips on cardboard base to achieve texture of crivices on trunk of tree) and coloured with mineral natural colour powders used.
2) Leaves attached to tree are made with chart paper of green colour.
3) Jungle around the artificial tree is created by planting real shrubs and plants i.e grass grown in the soil.
4) At the base of entire decoration we have used cloth like old bed sheets etc.
5) Ganesh murti of shadu mati made at home by myself and coloured with water based colours.
We have created Eco Friendly Ganpati Decoration in year 2016

Decoration Theme: Water Scarcity Theme
Decoration Description: The entire decoration is made with card paper and card board material and the ganesh murti is made by myself at home with shadu mati for a clean environment.
The theme of the decoration is regarding the current issue of water scarcity problem this year. There was no rain in the rural areas of Maharashtra and heavy rains in metro city like Mumbai, still there are water cuts everywhere.
On one side we have shown a farmer praying for rains to ganesha as his crops are dying due to no rains. On other side we have shown a lane from Mumbai city were a woman is praying for rains to stop so that everyday life does not suffer. We have shown live rain falling from the clouds made with cotton. Lord ganesha then explains through the narrator that such unusual climate with flooding at some places and drought at other places is due to global warming, human beings not taking care of environment etc.
Message given is that due to global warming, deforestation there is a change in climate patterns. Water is a basic necessity without which life is not possible that’s why we should use water wisely and not waste i.e. are promoting the use of ecofriendly shadu ganesha and eco-friendly decoration.
Decoration Materials Used: Card paper, Cardboard, Shadu Mati, Water Scarcity, Rain, Crops, Farmer, Global Warming, Cloud, Cotton, Dry Grass, Ice Cream Stick, Road, Car, Pheta, Led Light
