Ahmedabad, Gujarat celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with as much enthusiasm as in Mumbai. The city has plenty of renowned Ganesh Mandals. While the city gears up for the festival at every home, the Mandals that take shape are breath-taking. The huge Mandals from Shahpur ka Raja, Krishna Mitra Mandal at Naranpura, Madhupura ka Raja, are worth hopping. Take a bow at the Pandals at Maninagar, like the Shiv Shakti Yog Mandal of Dakshini society, or the Shree Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal of Shreepadwadi Dakshini Society where the highest idols of Lord Ganesha are placed. The ten-day long festivity is also interspersed with cultural events and the entire city is in a great enthusiasm.
How the City celebrates and enjoys?
While temples also have special Abhishek and puja for Lord Ganesha, the Pandals are erected by locals and there are plenty of devotees to visit. There are cultural events like Daayro singing, and traditional dance and music festivals that make the festival the best time to be in the city. These days, there are eco-friendly theme based Ganesh Pandals that compete with each other and send messages of social value to the pandal hoppers too.
