Decoration Theme: Decoration was based on the theme Recycle
Decoration Description: We are celebrating Ganesh Utsav in an ecofriendly way since 2008, demonstrating & creating awareness to protect the environment by using everyday material in our decoration with an idea to recycle. This year we used only paper tea cups (to make the pillars) and origami paper (to make lotus flowers) for the decoration. The idea was to create a deepstambh using LED lights in this tea cup tower. The photos attached illustrate this eco-friendly concept and glory of a rotating light display. Our Ganesh murti is virajmaan on pink lotus flower and the origami pink paper lotus flowers complemented the theme and added to the beauty of the concept. Our Ganpati murti was made of shadu soil, water colours plus coconut coir. The height of our Ganapati was approx. 21 inches.
Decoration Materials Used: Paper Tea Cups, Pink Lotus, Shadu Soils, Coconut Coir, Led lights

Decoration Theme: Decoration was based on the theme Reduce, Regrow, Recycle
Decoration Description: This year's decoration was based on the theme Reduce, Regrow, Recycle. So we used Green green sprouting shoots of moong, matki. We did not use soil for growing the moong and matki sprouts, but instead we used Coco peat (cocopeat), also known as coir pith, coir fibre pith, coir dust, or simply coir, is made from coconut husks, which are byproducts of other industries that use coconuts. We have given this cocopeat to our society garden and tender sprouts to cows near the Jain Mandir near our locality. These sprouts were grown in waste bottles (on the wall) and bamboo toplis (on the table). Totally green makhar and Ecogreen Ganpati.
The idol is made of shadu mati strictly, water based and vegetative colors and is 12 inches in height.
Our motive for ecofriendly Ganpati was to avoid noise pollution, air pollution, and water pollution.
1. To avoid water pollution, our Ganpati murti was made of shadu soil, natural vegetative colour (which we insisted) plus coconut coir. The height of our Ganpati was 12 inches. Our tender young sprouts of moong and matki grown in cocopeat. We have immersed our Bappa in an artificial lake.
2. To avoid noise pollution, we did not order banjo or dhol taasha.
3. To avoid air pollution, we did not ignite fireworks.
We have created Eco Friendly Ganpati Decoration in year 2013.
We have brought Eco Friendly Ganpati Murti in year 2013.
